As athletes, we are asking a lot of our bodies, and if we want to continue to train day in and day out injury-free and healthy, we need to fuel well. It is important to hit our daily protein goals to maintain, repair, and rebuild muscle. This can be difficult because adequate protein consumption does not come naturally for many of us at all meals. Enter this new smoothie bowl for a delicious and easy way to nail your protein goal at any meal.

I love a good, fruity smoothie bowl, but they usually lack protein. Our friends at RNWY came out with an acai-flavored vegan protein powder, and I immediately thought this could be the perfect base for a smoothie bowl. As I played around with this recipe and my new Ninja Creami, I knew this would be a winner.

One serving of RNWY Complete Protein Acai provides 25 g of protein – need more protein? Use a higher protein milk. The fruit provides carbohydrates, and depending on your needs, you can increase that by adding carb-rich toppings. Add healthy fat from nut butter, seeds, or nuts, and you will have a deliciously balanced meal.

I’m not going to lie—using a Ninja Creami with this recipe makes it pretty fun, but you can also use a blender. Adjust the liquid as needed to make your blender happy. Make this your own with whatever toppings you’d like—fresh fruit, melted peanut butter, granola, chia seeds, nuts, etc. This recipe is great for breakfast, dessert, or a fourth meal before bed if you are trying to improve recovery or need more nutrition due to ramped-up training.
